Queer Histories in Stone
'Queer Histories in Stone' is a commentary into the existence and survival of queer spaces. In this participatory installation, Vijay positions himself as curator. On a table full of plain red bricks, he allows the audience/punters to share and write down their memories of the specific venue. These are then priced with a value that the punters and curator will negotiate. The piece is designed to be performed in spaces that are currently under threat.
The piece was developed as part of Duckie Summer School 2014 and subsequently performed at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern.
